The date is set for the highly anticipated VH&RA Media Reception held at the Arizona Biltmore. This annual event offers VH&RA members the opportunity to build relationships with the Valley's top print, broadcast, radio and online media in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. A favorite among local media, this event features chef stations from top resort restaurants and is a great opportunity for public relations and marketing representatives and chefs to raise awareness about their properties and culinary outlets. Industry networking, a fabulous silent auction and attendance of several elected officials are additional event highlights.

Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel Wins Arizona's Most Admired Company Award
Congratulations to our friends at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel for winning Arizona Business Magazine's "Most Admired Company" award. A selection committee comprised of the magazine's editorial team along with professionals from a wide range of industries selected the property as a winner in this category. As a result, the hotel will be featured in the October/November issue of Arizona Business Magazine and is automatically entered to win a "Spotlight Award", which will be announced at a reception held September 7 at the Arizona Biltmore. Kudos to General Manager Leo Percopo and his amazing team!
Aloha to Trader Vic's at the Hotel Valley Ho
On Saturday, July 30, the hotel will bid its final "aloha" to Trader Vic's Scottsdale, the iconic Polynesian restaurant known for its kitschy design, entrées from the Chinese wood-fired oven, and for being the inventor of the famous Mai Tai. After five years of operation as an upscale, dinner-only restaurant, Trader Vic's Scottsdale will be closing its doors to allow a new and unique concept to be brought to life - a concept built to better satisfy the tastes of both travelers and local dining patrons.

Results of the 16th annual Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards 2011 Readers' Survey were announced Thursday, July 7.
